SALT Group Defines "Linguistic Translation" as follows:

Translation is the process of fully understanding and interpreting a piece of text in the source Language. Then, an equivalent piece of text is generated in the target Language by highly qualified linguists. Those linguists must be Linguistic professionals and mastering the target Language sufficiently enough to produce a text that seems to have been written originally in the target Language. Computational Arabic Translation bears a lot of hidden skills that can only be acquired through professional processing of translation projects.

How we do it:

  • Choosing the perfect candidate for a Translator job is one of our major concerns.
  • SALT Group has signed NDA agreements with some University Professors in different specializations particularly those not applicable to normal skilled translators, such as Medical and Law translation. Our concept here is that there is no one person who can be professional in more than one specialization, it is either localization technique, vocabulary and standards, or other human specialization such as the medical field.
  • Using our own in-house compiled glossaries database (A module of our SALT Knowledgebase). This database is available for all SALT Team (in-house and outsourcing) over an Intranet. This is how we maintain:
    • i- consistency,
    • ii- updated term base and
    • iii- speed search for terms over the same product when more than one translator are working on with it.
  • Skillfully, using the internet resources in searching for definitions of new terms. This procedure ensures valid understanding of each new term in the most accurate way. Naturally, we can't interpret any term in a predictable way. That's why we have our own scenarios to apply in such cases until we reach a solution that must be convincing to us then we transfer this confidence to the product.
